Cardiac Event Monitoring
Cardiac Event Monitoring is an automatically activated system that requires no patient intervention to either capture or transmit a dysrhythmia when it occurs. The purpose of this service is for continuous, long-term (>24 hours) cardiac surveillance of patients in order to identify and document a suspected and/or paroxysmal dysrhythmia.
Cardiac Event Monitoring utilizes technology that allows for wireless transmission of the electrocardiogram (ECG) waveform to the WirelessDx Monitoring Centers. A WirelessDx Monitoring Center is equipped and staffed with qualified personnel 24 hours a day, seven days a week to assess electrocardiographic data and to initiate appropriate management action. The patient's physician is made aware
of dysrhythmias by qualified personnel on a daily or as needed basis.
WirelessDx personnel consist of paramedics and registered nurses (RN's) with Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications and are supervised by physicians specializing in cardiology, internal medicine and emergency medicine.
In Cardiac Event Monitoring, the patient wears a telemetry transmitter that sends the ECG to a computer (cloud server) with modem where real-time analysis occurs.
