Telemetry On Demand ™
Telemetry on Demand ™ is a heart rhythm monitoring and quick-check service, which provides
sub-acute long term care skilled nursing and assisted living facilities with a tool for patient triage. Capturing electrocardiogram (ECG) data from a patient while they are exhibiting symptoms such as syncope, dizziness, chest pain, palpitations or general weakness enables caregivers, to assess the acuity of a patient's condition in real time. By transporting the data to a monitoring center rather than the patient to the hospital, better, faster decisions can be made. Patients that need urgent acute care arrive at an emergency department with ECG data in hand. Patients with normal sinus rhythm can be directed to other specialty consultations. Patient's with mild
(non-urgent) arrhythmia conditions can be referred to a cardiologist. As a result, in some cases, unnecessary hospital admissions may be avoided.
Telemetry On Demand ™ is also a risk assessment and risk management tool. This service can be utilized as part of an admission assessment upon a patient's arrival at a skilled nursing facility or assisted living facility. Telemetry on Demand ™ enables the facility operator to determine if prior diagnosed arrhythmias have been completely resolved, are being managed in a stable condition via medication and diet, or have become unstable and recurrent. New arrhythmias may also be detected, which may have been caused by new medications or other treatments. Similarly, Telemetry on Demand ™ can be used as an assessment tool prior to discharge from a skilled nursing facility to determine whether or not a patient can be safely discharged or should remain in skilled care.
